* - In Factoids.COM the name of the inventor of the toilet is called Thomas Crapper, I'm not too bothered about this, and to be honest, I found it quite funny, but if this comic is designed for kids as well as teens and adults then surely he should of had a more appropriate name...

* - The Next Time's Desperate Dan awkwardly shows a picture of Dan with a big whale, but this story is on the back page as this week's Desperate Dan... Oops...

A pretty good issue, Bananaman, Pre-Skool Prime Minister and Terror Byte were the highlights of this week's issue, although Postman Prat, Doctor Loo, Jibber and Steve, Desperate Dan and George VS Dragon were also very good. I wasn't so impressed with Harry Hill's Real Life Adventures in TV Land (I thought the story was too confusing and didn't seem to get anywhere...), The Mighty Bork (not funny but I was pleased to see the last of the off putting wobbly lines and all the Bork, bork, bork stuff, also Rocky O'Flair was back so I was glad about that), Simples! 101 Ways to Use a Meerkat (Who the hell draws it now, it used to be great but now it's drawn by some terrible artist), Stan Helsing (The story was boring and I don't really know what it's about), CSI: Emmerdale (I do not get this whatsoever, I don't watch soaps so I'm screwed!), Bear Thrills (That pun was old and it wasn't very funny) and finally and surprisingly The Arena of Awesome (I don't know about you but I find it really boring and not funny at all... The colours are also to light and don't look good...)

Anyway despite these things, the issue is pretty good! And best of all, no Clive 5! :D

Characters absent this issue:
- Kid Cops
- Robot on the Run
- Clive 5
- Shao Lin Punks
- Little Celebs
- Noel or No Noel?
- TV Teaser
- What's in Cheryl's Hair Today?
- The Phantom Pharter
If the Dandy did the Cube
- The Not-so-Secret Millionaire
- The Stynx Effect
- The Last Windbender
- The Sheriff of Dottingham
- Coronation Street Fighter
- The Twiglet Saga
And obviously the one issue laster:
- Count Snotula (Where the hell did this guy go?!)

So now you've read this ramble about the Dandy go buy it! It's a great issue! :D

  1. I apologise in advance to all those innocent little kids whose sensibilities I am about to offend, but Thomas Crapper really did invent (bits of) the flushing toilet, although his name is a coincidence and nothing to do with crap in its modern sense.

And, as Dandy offence goes, that's pretty minor. An issue from (I think) 2005 was much more explicit about the matter, featuring a reference to a spoof TV show called "Stinky and the Drain" who lived far away in the sewers under the city of Crapopolis, which surprised me at the time. Although not so much as a certain picture from around the same period on what we were assured was a "Guide to Good Health"...

  2. Dandy 3517 advertised a story in which Dan gets spots. I assume this and the whale story got switched after the advert pages were made. Complain to the new Mailbag page that launches in 3519. 3519 also sees the last George vs Dragon for now... :(

    Oh... Wow, poor guy...
There was some innuendo in there though I reckon...

    @James Spiring
    Yeah, a big fail... Sadly I've lost 3517... :(
Mailbag section looks pretty good... Something to do with Postman Prat most likely...
I know... :( Ah well, new Fanton characters coming! Boo and a (secret) classic one!
