RATINGS:
Dennis and Gnasher - 10/10
Great storyline, he's called a menace, the ending's funny plus he uses his catapult again!
Billy Whizz - 8/10
Not bad, great artwork, okay storyline...
Minnie the Minx - 9.5/10
Funny plus incredible artwork, Minnie was a minx as well which is a good sign!
Ball Boy - 10/10
Funny story, Dave Eastbury's artwork makes this story fantastic!
Freddie Fear - 9/10
Good artwork and the storyline wasn't bad...
The Numskulls - 9.5/10
Great artwork, a bit gross but still very good!
Meebo and Zuky - 9/10
Okayish story, nice artwork, too predictable...
The Bash Street Kids - 6/10
What has happened to this strip? :(
Robbie Rebel - 8.5/10
Not bad, good artwork!
Fred's Bed - 8.5/10
Pretty good, great artwork and the story was okay..
Roger the Dodger - 9/10
Good artwork and storyline, only thing that bugged me was that it was blatantly a reprint...
60 Second Dennis - 10/10
A great story which included both menacing and humour.
The Beano, Issue 3576, on sale now for only £1.35
Next week is Dennis' Birthday, looks to be a good issue! And it's only £1.35!
Yup, that Roger strip originally appeared in a longer form in the Beano Annual. What's the betting next week's Beano Retro will be Davy Law's version of Dennis?
ReplyDeleteWhy would they use a reprint?!
ReplyDeleteYep, very likely... :)
Erm, no, although a story about a fun run did appear in the 2008 annual it definitely wasn't that one! That would have appeared in 2005 or 2006. I have the original somewhere...
ReplyDeleteI know this one wasn't the one that featured in the 2008 so I imagine it was in the comic as I have all the Beano Annuals stretching back to 1976 and I don't remember this story...
ReplyDeleteI'm looking froward to next week's issue! :D
